Were looking for a hands-on R&D Engineer with strong automotive electrical experience and a background in multi-skilled engineering to join our growing team working on hydrogen and battery-electric heavy-duty vehicles.
This role isnt just about electrics
youll get involved in electrical, mechanical, and hybrid systems integration across a wide range of prototype and development projects. Perfect for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and being part of projects at the cutting edge of vehicle technology.
What youll be doing
Designing and building
prototype systems
from wiring harnesses to mechanical assemblies Developing
hybrid hydrogen-electric powertrains
for heavy-duty vehicles Hands-on installation, testing, and validation of components and systems Setting up and configuring
CAN-based control systems Collecting and analysing performance data to improve designs Working across disciplines
electrics, mechanics, controls, and integration Collaborating with partners, suppliers, and customers in the UK and abroad What were looking for
Electrical / Automotive Engineering Degree
or equivalent qualification (IMI/NVQ Level 3+ considered with relevant experience) Knowledge of
high voltage electrical systems and vehicle architecture Practical experience with
both electrical and mechanical component integration Strong understanding of systems such as
batteries, BMS, inverters, motor controllers, thermal management Ability to read and produce
wiring diagrams and technical drawings Comfortable in an R&D environment
building, testing, and iterating prototypes Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills Bonus if you have: R&D experience in EV, motorsport, or hydrogen ISO 26262 functional safety knowledge 3D CAD skills A real passion for clean-tech and future mobility Whats on offer
