This role is ideal for someone with a strong grounding in electrical building services who is passionate about low-carbon design, building physics integration, and performance-led engineering. The position is hybrid, requiring three days per week in a collaborative Leeds-based office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical Systems Design: Develop and coordinate electrical designs including lighting, power distribution, controls, and renewable energy systems for residential and commercial buildings.
  • Sustainability Integration: Work closely with building physicists and sustainability consultants to embed electrical systems within thermal modelling and energy strategies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure electrical designs comply with relevant UK standards and regulations (e.g., Part L, BREEAM, Net Zero Carbon pathways).
  • Design Documentation: Prepare technical reports, schematics, load calculations, and performance specifications from concept through to construction.
  • Collaboration: Engage with architects, MEP consultants, and clients to ensure integrated and buildable solutions.
  • Innovation: Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon impact, and optimise lifecycle performance.
  • Project Support: Attend coordination meetings and provide input during key design and delivery stages.
