Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Pre-Construction Team. This is a key role responsible for supporting projects from concept through to delivery — focusing on design, technical coordination, and procurement activities.

The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a strong background in electrical building services design and pre-construction planning, capable of taking ownership of multiple projects at early-stage development.

Duties

Collaborate with the pre-construction team to develop and complete electrical designs for upcoming projects.

Prepare design documentation, drawings, and specifications in accordance with project requirements and relevant standards.

Support procurement activities, including obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations, conducting comparisons, and providing technical input during selection.

Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure all design and technical deliverables align with project objectives.

Provide value engineering input and identify opportunities to optimise design and cost efficiency.

Attend design meetings, tender reviews, and provide technical support throughout the tender process.

Assist with project planning, risk identification, and design coordination across disciplines.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.

Proven experience within the construction or building services industry, ideally on commercial or industrial projects.

Strong understanding of electrical design principles, procurement processes, and industry standards (BS7671, IET Wiring Regulations).

Ability to produce and review technical designs and documentation.

Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.

Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £70,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
