Electrical Engineer – Canary Wharf

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join a very busy commercial site in Canary Wharf. This is a hands-on role where you will take responsibility for both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of building services systems.

Key Details:

• Location: Canary Wharf
• Salary: £45,000 – £48,000 based on experience
• Hours: Monday to Friday (split shifts – 7am or 9am starts)
• Call-out: 1 week in 2 (£100 standby)
• Contract Type: Permanent, full-time

Day-to-Day Duties:

• Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) across electrical and building services assets.
• Responding promptly to reactive maintenance requests, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Fault-finding and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and plant.
• Assisting with mechanical and fabric tasks when required, demonstrating a flexible, multi-skilled approach.
• Supporting contractors on site, ensuring all works are completed safely and in line with compliance standards.
• Keeping logbooks and records up to date.
• Ensuring high standards of customer service and professionalism at all times.

Requirements:

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential).
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a building services/FM environment.
• Good knowledge of building systems such as lighting, emergency lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, HVAC plant, and BMS.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and take ownership of tasks.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients and colleagues.
