Electrical Field Service Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled Field Service Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a growing power generation business. This field-based role involves the installation, commissioning, maintenance, fault finding, and repair of generators and associated electrical systems. Youll be both on the business site and on client sites, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

Install, commission, service, and maintain generator systems.

Diagnose and repair electrical faults, including control panels, alternators, and switchgear.

Carry out routine planned maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications.

Perform load testing, wiring, and system upgrades.

Provide on-site technical support and advice to clients.

Accurately complete service reports, job sheets, and client documentation.

Respond to emergency breakdowns as part of an on-call rota.

Comply with health & safety policies, regulations, and safe working practices.

Requirements

Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, City & Guilds, or equivalent).

Strong understanding of electrical control systems, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Previous experience working with generators or power systems is highly desirable.

Mechanical knowledge of generators (advantageous, training provided if required).

Flexible to travel across the UK, with occasional overnight stays.

Full UK driving licence.

Package & Benefits

Salary:£35,000 - £45,000 per annum

Hours: Monday

Friday, 7:00am

4:00pm

Overtime: Paid at 1.5x (MonSat) and 2x (Sundays)
