Electrical Project Engineer MEP Contracting / Building Services City of London
A leading, global construction and consultancy firm with a reputation for delivering some of the world’s most complex and iconic projects across healthcare, residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer for a Commercial New-build project located in the City of London.
Responsibilities: Deliver project requirements within the team, collaborating and coordinating effectively with colleagues. Review, manage, and close out the electrical design using engineering expertise and company management processes. Coordinate and liaise with project Sub-contractors, Sub-Subcontractors, and Suppliers for electrical works. Oversee and manage electrical package interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with mechanical and public health systems. Build strong relationships and collaborate with key project stakeholders, including the Client, Design Team, and Construction Team. Identify potential risks and implement robust mitigation plans. Work collaboratively towards net zero carbon goals, proactively identifying and managing carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.
Package & Benefits: Basic salary between £80,000 – £85,000 £7,000 Car Allowance 27 days annual leave + bank holidays Private healthcare Generous pension scheme
Requirements: Strong knowledge of electrical engineering, including installation techniques, best practice, electrical distribution, containment, lighting, fire alarms, security systems, prefabrication, and single-system commissioning requirements. Proficiency in planning processes, including construction release requirements, critical path, task/work scheduling, and commissioning activities, from pre-construction through to practical completion. In-depth understanding of health, safety & welfare requirements, including electrical safety, working at height, fire safety, logistics, and lifting, to ensure safe management of electrical supply chain packages. Familiarity with quality assurance processes and commissioning of single electrical systems, as well as integration with BMS, cause & effect testing, and IST to ensure complete system handover. Relevant BTEC/HNC qualification. Valid CSCS Card. SMSTS Health & Safety Training.
