OverviewElectrical Test Design Engineer role at Eaton in Wimborne, Dorset, United Kingdom. This is an ITAR-regulated site requiring eligibility for Security Clearance. Flexible working solutions are available, depending on phases of project work.Role OverviewAs an Electrical Test Design Engineer in our team, you will demonstrate and deploy electrical knowledge within the field of automated electrical test design for the aerospace industry. You will provide technical support to aerospace projects and product developments, primarily for military applications. Aligning technical solutions to organizational objectives to ensure the optimum business benefit will also be part of your role.Key ResponsibilitiesApply aerospace engineering principles and working knowledge to a range of problems that require imaginative and practical solutions.Research, develop and design tests for electronic components, equipment, controllers, devices and systems.Perform electrical test tasks allocated by the Electrical Test management team from concept to introduction to use, taking particular account of value, design for re-use, safety, validation, and configuration management. When using facilities and equipment, ensure that they are safe and serviceable.Create and support review of supporting documentation, that defines the design, verification, processes and procedures that control the governance and operation of electrical test activity.Support Supply Chain with liaison to suppliers, to ensure adherence to process and controlled introduction of equipment and services.Collaborate with technical colleagues outside of the business unit/functional area as needed, to accomplish objectives.Support the Electrical Test Design engineering management team in performing the activities associated with electrical tests for avionic equipment and systems.Develop as an effective team member to collectively deliver internal and external customer requirements.Support all stages of lifecycle management relating to development and validation of electrical test products.QualificationsEngineering or Science Degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.Minimum of 2 years within the engineering or manufacturing industries.Sound understanding of electrical systems.Able to understand circuit diagrams.Comfortable with the use of electrical laboratory instruments (DMM, Oscilloscope, etc.).Proficient user of MS Office, specifically Word and Excel.A keen eye for detail.Pro-active, able to use her own initiative.Good verbal and written communications.Collaborative approach, keen to work in a team oriented environment.An appetite to learn.What We OfferCompetitive compensation and benefits packageChallenging projects in dynamic collaborative teamFlexible working solutionsWe make your aspirations matter – Eaton encourages internal promotion, whenever possibleWe make your growth matter - We invest in our employees for the long term – not just with salary and benefits, but with ongoing learning and development opportunities made available through Eaton UniversityWe make your contributions matter - reliability, safety, efficiency, and sustainability are at the core of our dedication to improving people’s lives and the environment through power management technologies.We make your wellbeing matter – We put your health and safety first.
