Our network of distribution, fulfillment, fleet, furniture installation, and professional teams work together in safe environments to deliver state-of-the-art products, services, and expertise to our customers.What you’ll be doing:As a Maintenance Technician 2, you will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on conveyors, electrical motors, material handling equipment, power tools, welding equipment, and lift equipment such as jacks, chargers, and batteries.You will also handle general building maintenance including overhead doors, construction repairs, floor repairs, and second-level gates and doors. Light plumbing and carpentry tasks will also be part of your role.Safety is our top priority, so you will ensure safe work practices and uphold our safety culture.You will be essential to the success of Staples Supply Chain in delivering to our customers.What you bring to the table:Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, pneumatics, and ability to read blueprints and schematics, including electrical schematicsAbility to use vendor manuals and procedures for maintenance and troubleshootingWillingness to be trained and certified to operate equipment like forklifts and electric pallet jacksCollaborative approach to work with colleagues and customersAnalytical thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to quickly adopt safety procedures and ensure safe practicesComfort working in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature changesBasic English skills (verbal and written)Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDAt least 1 year of related experienceAbility to pass a drug screeningWillingness to work additional hours and overtime as neededAbility to work at heights up to 60 feet or moreAbility to lift, push, or pull 70-100 poundsMust be at least 18 years oldAdditional Qualifications:Trade school background preferredWe Offer:Competitive pay: $26.00 - $30.00/hour plus $1.00/hour shift differentialInclusive culture with employee-led resource groupsFlexible PTO (22 days) and paid holidays (7 observed)Discounts, 401(k) matching, wellness programs, and moreThe physical demands of this role are typical for the position.
