We are seeking an experienced
RF Systems Engineer
to join a growing team focused on the development of advanced RF systems. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of defence technology, shaping innovative solutions from concept through to demonstrator.
The role will involve:
Designing RF system architectures, conducting trade-off studies, and balancing performance, cost, time, and risk Integrating multi-disciplinary elements, including antennas, RF components, DSP, firmware, and software, into cohesive solutions Supporting early-stage R&D (TRL2-4) through to advanced technology demonstrators (TRL5/6 and beyond) Engaging with customers and stakeholders through technical presentations, roadmaps, and solution justifications Driving innovation through feasibility studies, proof-of-principle activities, and system prototyping What we're looking for:
Strong background in RF systems engineering, ideally within radar or electronic warfare domains Knowledge of RF subsystems including antennas, front-end electronics, and signal processing chains Proven experience in system design, performance modelling, and trade-off analysis Track record of developing concepts into demonstrators or operational prototypes Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Desirable skills:
Familiarity with EM, RF and DSP modelling tools Experience with radar or EW techniques and military threat environments Knowledge of system-level testing and validation Understanding of defence standards and systems engineering frameworks (DOORS, SysML, NAF) Qualifications:
Degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering or related discipline Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) desirable This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge RF technologies with a team of specialists driving forward innovative solutions.
