Role title: Electronics Engineers

Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.

Due to the classified nature of the work involved, there are limited opportunities to work from home. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend most of their time (about 80%) working on site at AWE Aldermaston.

Package: £34,000 - £70,000 (depending on suitability, qualifications and level of experience)

Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. Flexible working requests will be considered to fit your lifestyle.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, testing, and fault-finding of electronic hardware, with analysis and assessment of existing designs.
  • Work as part of a small team of engineers to apply domain knowledge to warhead electrical systems and develop your career with AWE.

Who we are looking for

Qualifications and experience we require:

  • A degree-level qualification (degree or HND, etc.) in electrical/electronic engineering or applied physics, or equivalent working experience

Experience we would like you to have (not a tick list):

  • Analogue circuit design
  • Digital support circuit design
  • Electronic circuit fault finding
  • Circuit simulation and modelling
  • Reverse engineering & data analysis
  • Switch mode power supply design (SMPS)
  • High voltage circuit design considerations & electrical safety
  • Failure Mode Effect Analysis (design/product, component level)
  • Electromagnetics design with small form factor transformers

Other attributes: ability to work calmly and constructively in a changing environment, take initiative, remain enthusiastic, be flexible, and meet tight deadlines.
