We hire local suppliers and tradespeople and work with local communities to make sure that our plans meet their needs.Main purpose of the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to join our Yorkshire East region, based from our regional office near Doncaster.The main purpose of the role is to control and co-ordinate all technical information between external consultants and internal departments. To ensure all approvals are obtained and information received issued to allow for a programmed start on site. Support all aspects of a site’s lifecycle throughout the sites development from initial start up to completion and handover to the relevant authorities for adoptions. Provide live site support with attendance of development team meetings in conjunction with the other teams to facilitate and support the site-specific Exit Plan process to complete the final build stages and achieve adoption and handover of Roads, Sewers, POS etc.The key accountabilities:TechnicalWork with Land Department to ensure smooth transition of informationPrepare site viability reports in line with current regulatory requirements for residential developmentCheck all drawings and details for accuracy, correctness and commercial suitabilityReview technical designs and submissions for roads and sewers to ensure suitability for future adoptionLiaise with external consultants to ensure deadlines are met.Apply for and secure statutory body approval of Engineering Design and Ground InvestigationAttend site visits and meetings to solve issues that arise during the constructions processAttend design meetings with the highways and planners to ascertain requirements from a council perspective for new developmentsWork on tenders and pre-start engineering documentation and oversee viability of each oneEnsure that new regulation requirements are anticipated and incorporated as requiredTake an active role in supporting the road & sewer adoption process of closed and live sitesTechnical DesignAssist the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineers to obtain fee quotations from specialist consultants for all engineering design and technical report requirementsProvide technical and administrative support to the site teamsObtain all required technical approvals in line with programmed site start datesProduct DevelopmentBe aware of the need for innovation in all aspects of our businessExpect and encourage continued change and improvement within the CompanyPeopleCreate a good rapport with our partner consultants, contractors and adopting authorities to ensure the Company receives total commitmentDevelop a close working relationship with the Regional team, ensuring all information is communicated effectively and efficientlySupport others working within the engineering section and provide support and coaching where requiredHS&S ResponsibilitiesTo take care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your work and adhere to the Keepmoat Health, Safety and Sustainability standards.Skills, knowledge & experienceWe are looking for an established Engineer with a housebuilding background who embodies our Keepmoat values; passionate about the housebuilding industry, they will work in a straightforward way, possessing strong organisational skills with a good commercial and contractual awareness. They will be creative with a keen eye for detail and ability to process technical information.
