About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive Facilities Engineer to join a leading manufacturer. This role is responsible for ensuring the ongoing maintenance, safety, and reliability of the site’s facilities, utilities, and building systems to support daily production operations.

You’ll work closely with the Maintenance, Health & Safety, and Production teams to deliver high standards of site upkeep, compliance, and improvement projects across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repair of plant equipment, HVAC, compressed air, lighting, and general building systems.

  • Support planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensure timely completion of all facility-related tasks.

  • Manage contractor activities on-site, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with company policies.

  • Monitor and maintain utilities systems (air, water, gas, power) to ensure efficiency and reliability.

  • Support H&S compliance across the site, including risk assessments, permits-to-work, and equipment safety checks.

  • Identify and deliver cost-saving and energy-efficiency initiatives.

  • Assist in site improvement projects such as layout changes, refurbishments, and installation of new machinery.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and facility activities.

  • About You

  • Experience in a Facilities, Maintenance, or Engineering role within manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial environments.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or building services systems.

  • Knowledge of PPM, H&S compliance, and contractor management.

  • Capable of working both hands-on and strategically across multiple projects.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and adaptable attitude.

  • Relevant qualification (e.g. HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering).
