MyDefence is looking for a Field Application Engineer to join the team in the United Kingdom. As part of the company’s rapid international growth, you will become a key technical ambassador for their mission-critical C-UAS technology.
In this role, you will work closely with the sales and engineering teams to deliver impactful demonstrations, seamless installations and support for customers worldwide. The role reports directly to the Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct demonstrations of counter-UAS technology for e.g. army, navy and special forces.
- Serve as technical sparring partner for the sales team, offering expertise and insight to support sales efforts.
- Perform site surveys at customer locations to assess installation requirements.
- Plan and execute system network setups, including testing and calibration of C-UAS systems.
- Install and oversee the deployment of C-UAS systems at customer sites.
- Support testing and calibration of technical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Define and execute Site Acceptance Test (SAT) routines and prepare detailed SAT reports.
- Participate in ISO9000 procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Ensure demo equipment is fully functional before and after use; inspect for defects, arrange repairs if needed, and keep equipment ready for immediate use.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for demonstration equipment and installed systems.
- Assist customers in the UK and the rest of Europe with technical troubleshooting and resolving system issues.
- Collaborate with product management team to provide input for future product designs or system upgrades based on customer feedback and field experience.
Qualifications
- Degree in engineering, electronics or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience with radio systems, GPS technology and field deployments. Military background is a plus.
- Home-based in the UK with the willingness and ability to travel 50-70 days per year, primarily within Europe.
- Eligible to obtain relevant security clearance(s).
- Fluent in English (additional languages are a bonus).
As a person, you are confident, outgoing and adaptable under pressure. You are a self-starter with a problem-solving mindset and strong communication skills. Additionally, you are comfortable engaging and communicating with customers and other key stakeholders.

Location: Home-based in the United Kingdom
Start date: As soon as possible
Compensation: Competitive compensation and benefits package
Travel: 50-70 days per year, primarily within Europe
