Overview
Field Services Engineer based in the Dorset area to join our Network Health team. This is a hands-on, field-based role to repair parcel lockers on client sites, including break-fix, maintenance, software configuration, quality control, and providing technical support and training to employees and subcontractors.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnose and repair faults and malfunctions of parcel locker machines (APMs) on site, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Maintain and modernise parcel locker machines, including hardware and software upgrades to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Diagnose, reconfigure, and install software or firmware for computer, electronic, and electromechanical equipment, ensuring compatibility and security compliance.
- Process and report on repairs using internal communication channels.
- Manage tools and components for parcel locker machines.
- Ensure quality control of work performed by internal staff and subcontractors, adhering to technical standards and agreements.
- Provide technical support and training to employees and subcontractors (including international ones) via company IT channels.
- Contribute to development of solutions for new parcel locker types and prepare/update technical manuals and documentation.
What We Need From You
- Experience in a field service technical engineering role on electrical/mechanical equipment; proficient with hand tools and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeter).
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair equipment, including software configuration and firmware updates.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide technical training.
- Ability to manage tasks efficiently, ensuring quality and meeting deadlines across multiple markets.
- High accuracy in quality control and documentation updates.
- Experience working with diverse teams, including international subcontractors and internal staff.
- Flexibility to travel for service and training activities in the UK and occasionally internationally.
- Familiarity with parcel locker or similar electromechanical systems and organisational IT tools.
- Effective time management and responsibility for tools and components.
Location and Travel
This role will require occasional visits to our office base in Hemel Hempstead and must be located near or within the Dorset area to cover the patch.
