Field Service Engineer – Power Generation
Field-based covering Peterborough, Northampton, Cambridge, and surrounding areas. Full-Time | Permanent
The Role
Our client, a global leading within the engineering industry, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their power generation division in aim to expand UK operations. This role focuses on the servicing, maintenance, and commissioning of mobile equipment such as compressors, generators, pumps, lighting towers, and energy storage systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Service and maintain portable compressors, energy storage systems, generators, pumps, and handheld equipment.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on-site.
* Perform pre-delivery inspections and commission new equipment.
* Identify required spare parts and complete accurate service reports in a timely manner.
* Coordinate with the Service Planner to manage your weekly service schedule efficiently.
* Ensure all work complies with site safety regulations and best engineering practices.
* Maintain tools, instruments, and equipment in good working condition.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Hands-on experience with at least some of the following:
* Portable air compressors
* Energy storage systems
* Diesel/petrol generators
* Pumps and lighting towers
* Battery-powered equipment
* Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
* Excellent customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
* Confident working independently and as part of a wider service team.
* Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and job reporting systems.
* Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK are essential.
