Field Service Engineer

Fortis Recruitment Solutions are working with a great manufacturing company to recruit a field service engineer to join their team. The position is covering the whole of the UK and the ideal candidate will be located within commuting distance of Sheffield. The field service engineer will carry out preparation, modification, maintenance, repair and installation of equipment that are add-ons to CNC machines.

The successful candidate will have mechanical, electrical and controls experience and have worked on CNC machines / CNC add-ons previously. Being a field service engineer you will need to have great customer service skills and be able to complete paperwork accurately.

Key requirements / skills -

To efficiently and safely carry out service engineer activities both on site for customers and in the workshop depending on demand and service workload. -

To provide high level technical guidance on products including installation and repair requirements -

To safely operate machinery (surface grinder, mills, lathes, test rigs etc) in which you are authorised and trained to do so at both customer sites and in the workshop -

To identify parts needed for the completion of work using technical drawings, bespoke software and company data -

To carry out in depth and accurate assessments of Rotary table / Presetters, both on customer sites and in the workshop. Giving clear diagnosis / reports of faults to determine work or parts required -

To undertake table repairs, refurbishments and rebuilds for both customers and in-house projects
