FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER – Northampton area base (Corby / Kettering / Northamptonshire): UK and European Coverage

Salary: GBP 36k plus generous benefits, van, exceptional allowances and expenses; realistic first year earnings: GBP 55k–GBP 60k.

Our client is based near Northampton and part of an established Group that provides bespoke materials handling solutions to a diverse range of customers and industry sectors worldwide. They are seeking a dynamic and multi-skilled Field Service Engineer to install and maintain a range of handling solutions and support customers at locations throughout the UK and internationally as required.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will undertake a broad range of reactive and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, in a customer-facing environment where high-quality service and customer satisfaction are paramount.

Responsibilities

• Carry out service calls on a planned preventive and reactive basis at customer premises, undertaking preventive maintenance and repair of equipment and systems; communicate activity clearly with the customer and report via job sheets the faults found and actions taken.
• Assist in installation and commissioning of machines; train customers and their technicians in the use and service of equipment as required.
• Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety requirements; work with little or no site supervision and adapt to time-constrained tasks as needed.
• Based in or around the Corby, Kettering or Northampton area with the ability to work across the UK and internationally; flexible in approach and capable of working in varied environments.

Qualifications & Experience

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Multi-skilled with a solid mechanical background; experience with Materials Handling Equipment and automatic process equipment is preferred.
• Willingness to work on a field-based role with travel to various locations and customers; comfortable working under own initiative.
