Field Service Engineer – Reading

Salary: £39,403.08 plus £5,886.32 on-call allowance (total £45,289.40 after probation) + overtime. Realistic earnings of £65,000+ per year. Benefits: Pension, company van, fuel card, and more. Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:30 On-call: 1 week in 4 (15:30 – 07:00, Monday – Sunday)

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Field Service Engineer to join a dedicated engineering service team. This role offers a mix of planned maintenance, fault-finding, and repair work across a variety of automated and mechanical systems.

The Role

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and suggest improvements.

Complete scheduled service rotas and respond to call-outs as part of a rota system.

Diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical faults.

Support continuous improvement and innovation in engineering solutions.

Ensure health and safety standards are always upheld.

Manage time effectively and prioritise workload.

About You

*

Recognised engineering qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent apprenticeship, ideally electrically biased).

*

Strong background in engineering within parcel handling, FMCG, or manufacturing.
