Field Service Engineer – Leicester – £25,000 - £35,000 PA

Working with a small family run engineering firm the owner is looking to take a engineer under his wing and train this person on the job in a Field Service Engineer position.

Specialising within the food machinery industry this role would suit someone who is looking to build a career within repair, service and installation of food machinery equipment, travelling around the local counties to manage a portfolio of engineering clients.

Field Service Engineer's Key Responsibilities: Support the company director in conducting on-site repair, calibration, and preventative maintenance for Metal Detector, Checkweigher, and X-Ray inspection equipment, ensuring high first-time fix rates and customer satisfaction Travel to customer sites within the assigned region, performing diagnostics, testing, and emergency services according to certified procedures Liaise with customers to ensure all work is carried out to their satisfaction in line with expectation Accurately document all service activities, maintain proper inventory of spare parts, and ensure all company equipment is kept in good working condition Follow safety procedures, attend ongoing technical training, and support phone-based troubleshooting as needed

Skills & Experience Required as a Field Service Engineer: Ideally have a relevant engineering qualification ideally a related degree in electro mechanical specialism Must be able to drive and have access to a car with the ability to travel around the local counties with job requirements Must be living in Leicester as this is the base location for the position Need to be a strong communicator with the willingness to learn Need a keen interest in developing a career within electro mechanical engineering Need to have the full right to work in the UK With long term career growth, promotional opportunity within the business and full training provided this role is perfect for someone looking to springboard their career within engineering!
