Our client has been established for half a century and specialises in the planned preventative and reactive maintenance and repair of the complete range of special purpose waste processing machinery, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit a multi skilled Field Service Engineer to complement their established and professional team.

Responsibilities

• Visit customer sites throughout the South West region with a company vehicle, performing servicing, PPM, fault finding, and repairs on the full range of special purpose machinery.
• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic circuit drawings; diagnose faults on electrical control panels/circuits and hydraulic circuits; carry out basic fabrication and mechanical repairs as required.
• Maintain safety and adhere to permit to work protocols and company safety rules; evaluate operational status and develop plans to ensure continuous running and adherence to planned maintenance standards.
• Work autonomously or as part of a team; communicate technical information clearly to customers; maintain professionalism and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Multiskilled engineer with the ability to maintain and repair hydraulic and electrical circuits; good mechanical knowledge; able to carry out basic fabrication. Welding experience advantageous.
• Experience with fault finding, diagnosis and repair on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Background in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic engineering; ability to read electrical/hydraulic circuit drawings.
• Flexible, self-motivated, proactive with strong organisation and planning skills; excellent customer-facing communication; commercially aware; able to work with minimal guidance.
