Group Service Manager Purpose of the Role

The Field Service Generator Engineer will provide on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair services for our range of generator equipment across the London and inner M25 region. The role focuses on ensuring machinery operates at peak performance through scheduled servicing, inspections, and prompt fault resolution.

Experience with JCB plant and construction machinery is advantageous but not essential. Key Responsibilities

Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of generators and associated equipment both on-site and in the workshop.

Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.

Investigate and resolve customer-reported technical issues efficiently and professionally.

Conduct scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime.

Complete all job cards, service reports, and timesheets accurately and within set timeframes.

Work independently or as part of a team to deliver high-quality service in line with company standards.

Ensure all repair and inspection activities comply with relevant safety and procedural requirements.

Maintain all tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe, clean, and serviceable condition.

Deliver excellent customer service, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

Represent the company professionally at all times.

Take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others in line with company policy.

Key Skills and Qualifications

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Minimum of 5 years' experience working with generator systems.

Solid knowledge of engines, alternators, control panels, and wiring diagrams.

Skilled in fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.

Electrically and mechanically qualified (relevant certifications desirable).

Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.

Full, clean UK driving licence.

Experience servicing JCB or other plant/construction machinery (advantageous but not required).

Excellent communication, documentation, and customer service skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Strong interpersonal, commercial, and customer awareness.

Highly organized, efficient, and adaptable to changing workloads and priorities.
