Position hybrid home and based at Smith Myers head office, Biggleswade.

An employee owned, dynamic and engineering led SME in cellular engineering.

You will provide technical training and support both in the lab and in the field as part of a small, co-dependent field engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Support all field service activities and demonstrations.
• This position will require international travel approximately 50% of the time.
• Performs engineering, technical analysis for the installation, operation,and maintenance of MPDLS.
• In field and in lab modification, and repair of company and customer products and equipment.
• Performs technical installation, operation, and maintenance of hardware.
• Software maintenance support, in accordance with product/customer specifications.
• Support/write technical manuals, specifications and document test measurements, with analysis.
• Work with design Engineers to prove and modify new features/products.
• In-depth equipment trouble shooting and testing.
• Maintenance and testing of unmanned air vehicles.
• Provides customers with information and issue resolution face-to-face and remotely.

Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 in electrical/electronics, or relevant demonstrable field experience to same level.
• Minimum 5+ years practical experience of field service maintenance of complex equipment (electro/mechanical/electronic/robotics/radio frequency preferrable).
• Minimum 3 + years of project experience with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills with fundamental knowledge of computer networking.
• Demonstrable experience in equipment installation, test plan drafting and system commissioning.
• Broad comprehension of technical and economic aspects of system components.
• Working knowledge of industry standards such as Aviation Standard DO160(G).
• Available to travel worldwide.
