This full-time position is ideal for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with hands-on expertise in rotating machinery and hydroelectric generators.
The role involves working across multiple sites both within the UK and abroad, so a willingness to travel internationally is essential.\n\n The role is focused on safety, planning, and communication. Key duties include managing project risks through RAMS, aligning tasks with project timelines, coordinating resources, maintaining quality documentation for rotating equipment, and ensuring effective communication with both the team and the client to uphold high standards and project efficiency.\n\n Key responsibilities:\n\nProvide overall guidance and oversight for team safety and all related operations\n\nCreate detailed assessments of potential hazards and outline procedural steps (RAMS) to manage risks, while clearly defining work scope for both team members and the client\n\nEnsure all relevant personnel, including the Quality Engineer and client representatives, are fully informed of RAMS\n\nCollaborate closely with the Project Manager to build a practical and achievable schedule that reflects staffing needs and estimated timelines\n\nTrack project performance against the established timeline and introduce solutions to address delays or risks to progress\n\nSkills & Experience required: \n\nSkilled professional in fitting \n\nCompleted an apprenticeship and holds a technical qualification from a further education institution\n\nHolds a Higher Certificate (HNC) or equivalent technical credential\nProven hands-on background working on-site with high-voltage AC and DC rotating machinery, including motors and generators\n\nStrong track record in servicing vertical hydroelectric generators \n\nProactive, adaptable, and safety-aware team player with strong communication skills\n\nPractical experience in conducting risk analyses, understanding electrical safety protocols, performing inspections, and taking precision measurements\n\nMust have a valid driver’s license and passport\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to advance your career offering progression and professional growth.\nInterested candidates are invited to apply with an up-to-date CV or contact Amar at Owen Daniels Midlands office for a confidential discussion
