Fire and Security Field Engineer
Primary tasks
To install Fire and Security systems in public and private buildings.
To work to recognised standards, including BSI, BAFE, and Fire Industry Associations.
To ensure that all Service operations are carried out within the scope of the company quality and H & S policies and any other associated accreditations.
To work hand-in-hand with the relevant staff/engineers to maximise operational efficiencies.
To undertake remedial works (liaising with office re booking jobs).
To undertake initial takeover service work/reports.
To undertake site audits, site surveys and other site visits as required to ensure a quality service is provided as and when required.
Skills.
Familiarity with the main fire and security systems in current use.
Ability to undertake electrical installations, using appropriate tools.
Knowledge of protocols used in alarm panels.
Ability to program and fault-find alarm panels.
Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
Qualifications.
One of:
HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structure).
City and Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment).
“A-Level” in relevant subjects plus experience.
Any FIA qualification plus relevant experience...
