A leading fire safety services company is seeking a motivated Fire Protection Engineer to join their growing team. The business delivers essential passive fire protection services to major clients across the UK, including healthcare, education, and facilities management organisations.
In this role, you will carry out site inspections, remedial works, and surveys across a range of passive fire protection systems. You will ensure compliance with BS: 9999:2017, HTM 05-02, HTM 05-03, and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, while providing detailed reports using BORIS software.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of firestopping products and installation methods, proven experience in remedial works, and the ability to interpret drawings and technical data accurately. The Role:
Conduct site inspections and surveys on passive fire protection systems including fire stopping, fire doors, cavity barriers, facades, ductwork, and fire-resistant coatings
Identify and report non-compliances using BORIS software
Carry out remedial works and ensure installations meet certified standards and manufacturer requirements
Interpret and apply relevant fire safety regulations and technical documentation
Work independently on-site and liaise with clients to deliver high-quality service
The Person:
Previous experience in the passive fire protection industry, including compartmentation surveys and fire stopping works
NVQ Level 2 Passive Fire Protection or equivalent minimum qualification
FIRAS accreditation and FSIDip preferred; FDIS and SSSTS desirable
Good working knowledge of BS: 9999:2017, HTM 05-02, HTM 05-03, and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
Competent with IT tools such as Excel, Word and BORIS
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide with occasional overnight stays
