Salary: Grade 12 £42,839-£46,141

Hours: 35 hours per week

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Authority (MFRA) Protection Department collaborates with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) to facilitate regulatory functions.

We seek an experienced individual to join our Multi-Disciplinary Team, representing the Fire & Rescue Authority.

Our Fire Engineering Team handles responses to Planning Applications and Building Regulations consultations. As the Built Environment evolves, this role provides fire engineering support to influence design, construction, and occupancy safety, ensuring compliance with the Fire Safety Order. You will work flexibly across Merseyside and the North West, conducting site inspections and enforcement actions as needed.

The ideal candidate will hold either a Fire Engineering Degree or a Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (or equivalent). If not, they must be willing to complete these qualifications, which will be funded by the role.

This role is funded until 31st March 2026, with a future funding application planned for late 2025.
