Overview

My client are on a mission to transform a new platform in the Edtech industry and are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help drive the next stage of their journey.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll architect, build, and scale high-performance applications, while mentoring a small team of engineers and shaping the future of their EdTech platform.

What you’ll do

• Lead full stack development with Node.js & ReactJS, TypeScript and modern cloud-native tools.
• Design and implement scalable APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Guide technical decisions, enforce best practices, and mentor other engineers.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Contribute to DevOps pipelines (CI/CD, Docker, GitHub Actions) and AWS infrastructure.

What they are looking for

• 5+ years’ software development experience across frontend & backend.
• Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, ReactJS, REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of SQL & NoSQL (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis).
• Cloud experience ideally with AWS services (Lambda, SQS, S3, Cognito, API Gateway, EventBridge).
• Experience with microservices and cloud-native development.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Explore and adopt cutting-edge tech (Generative AI, WASM, serverless patterns).
• EdTech industry experience.
• Next.js or Remix, AWS CDK/Infrastructure-as-Code, or experience mentoring teams.

Compensation and requirements

There is no flexibility on a starting salary and the maximum is £100k per year. The role requires candidates to be based in the UK and able to travel once every 6 months to meet the team. Please only apply if you have an ILR or a UK passport as our client does not offer sponsorship for this role.
