The role of the Full Stack Engineer is to develop user-facing applications and APIs that make our data and AI capabilities accessible and valuable to business users across Currys.

Role overview

As part of this role, you\'ll be responsible for:

  • Build web applications and dashboards that make insights from our data platforms accessible
  • Develop APIs that enable integration of AI capabilities into business systems
  • Create intuitive user interfaces that make data easy to use for all colleagues
  • Implement authentication, authorisation, and security controls for applications
  • Optimise application performance and user experience
  • Collaborate with data engineers, DevOps, and product managers on design and delivery
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications based on user feedback
  • Contribute to frontend and backend engineering standards and best practices

You will work closely with colleagues across engineering, product, enterprise architecture and transformation to design and deliver applications and APIs that surface data and AI insights. Partnering with product managers and business stakeholders, you will translate requirements into scalable solutions that unlock value and drive innovation. You will also collaborate with data, security, and DevOps teams to maintain high standards and build trusted relationships across the business.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design and delivery
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications
  • Contribute to engineering standards and practices

Requirements

  • Strong full-stack development experience with modern frameworks such as React, Vue, Node.js, and Tailwind.css
  • Proficiency in Python for backend development and API creation
  • Experience building data-driven applications and visualisations
  • Knowledge of RESTful and GraphQL API design
  • Understanding of authentication, authorisation, and security best practices
  • Experience with cloud deployment and containerisation
  • Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills
  • Familiarity with data visualization libraries
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; full-stack development certifications beneficial
  • Cloud platform experience desirable
