Overview
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Gas Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of gas systems and appliances in both residential and commercial environments. This includes boilers, heating systems, cookers, fires, and other gas-powered equipment.
The role involves diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs efficiently, and ensuring all work is completed in line with current gas safety regulations and industry standards. You will also be expected to complete relevant documentation, liaise with customers in a professional manner, and ensure that health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
A strong understanding of mechanical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential. The ideal candidate will be proactive, customer-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
Carry out servicing to boilers and fires for social housing landlords.
Provide excellent customer relationships with client(s), tenants and external customers.
Have a flexible approach to working hours
Engineers.
Adhere to all deadlines set and meet department objectives.
Ensure paperwork is accurately completed and returned.
Attend Toolbox Talks.
Ensure you comply to Engineer standards i.e. uniform, appearance etc, at all times.
Maintain an understanding of Health, Safety and Environment responsibilities/duties and Company Procedures.
Complete weekly vehicle and equipment check on van/tools, reporting any concerns to line management as promptly as possible.
Present van for monthly audits carried out by line manager, ensuring they are clean and tidy, road worthy and the van information pack is present.
Provide on-call support as required.
Any other reasonable duties.
Offer a high level of customer service at all times.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role is highly desirable.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
Full, Clean Valid UK driving licence
ACS Qualification (including CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 & CKR1)
Unvented not essential, but desirable
A commitment to safety practices and regulations within the gas industry is essential.
