*Job Title: Gas Service and Breakdown Engineer* *Location:* East London and East Central London Based *Salary:* £30-40,000 per year *Employment Type:* Full-time, Permanent
*About the Role:*
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable *Gas Service and Breakdown Engineer* to join our team on behalf of a leading heat pump *manufacturer*. This is a *field-based role* covering *East Central London*, supporting and working closely with our customers and manufacturing partner to ensure that systems are installed to the highest standard, function efficiently, and are free from operational issues.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Conduct commissioning, performance checks, and system diagnostics to ensure optimal operation. * Act as the technical liaison between the manufacturer and installers, resolving any issues that arise. * Deliver training and guidance as & when needed to ensure compliance with manufacturer standards. * Provide fault-finding expertise where required. * Document all site visits via app. * Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during all site operations. * Travel regularly throughout East Central London to visit customer and installer sites.
*Essential Requirements:*
* Gas Servicing background and knowledge * Recognised qualifications in plumbing, heating, or renewable energy technologies (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds). * Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems, hydraulics, and electrical controls. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to diagnose faults and implement effective solutions independently. * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across a wide geographic area.
*Desirable but not essential: Can be put onto training courses*
* Experience working directly for or with *manufacturers* of renewable energy systems. * Knowledge of building regulations and MCS standards relating to heat pumps.
