A client of Bennett & Game Recruitment seeks an experienced Geotechnical / Geo-environmental Engineer to join its South-West hub in Exeter. The role combines hands-on site investigation with office-based design, analysis and client liaison across a broad mix of infrastructure, residential and commercial projects in Devon, Cornwall and neighbouring counties. The successful candidate will work from their office in Exeter, benefiting from rural surroundings, on-site parking and the support of the multidisciplinary team behind an International Project of the Year finalist at the 2025 Ground Engineering Awards.
Geotechnical Engineer Job Overview
Lead and supervise site investigations across Devon, Cornwall and neighbouring counties, ensuring safe delivery and high-quality data across a range of project types. Carry out geotechnical analysis, geo-environmental assessment, design and interpretation, working to Eurocode 7, BS 5930 and current UK guidance. Produce, review and sign-off technical reports, drawings and factual/interpretive documents for clients, regulators and project teams. Manage H&S documentation (RAMS, CPP, Permit-to-Dig) and champion site safety in line with company policy. Liaise with contractors, local authorities and private clients to build strong relationships and deliver practical, value-led solutions.
