OverviewGRADUATE ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (ENERGY TRANSITION) - BICESTER, OXFORDSHIRE - SEPTEMBER 2026Join to apply for the GRADUATE ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (ENERGY TRANSITION) - BICESTER, OXFORDSHIRE - SEPTEMBER 2026 role at RED Engineering DesignWhat You’ll Be DoingSupporting project teams in the delivery of engineering and design work across various project stages, including both design and construction phases.Attending meetings with clients, suppliers, and design team members to observe and contribute to discussions, helping with the preparation and coordination of technical documentation.Providing technical and commercial support for the development of sustainable infrastructure solutions to complement REDs building services design.Assisting with undertaking surveys, tests and reports on existing electrical and mechanical installations, undertaking site surveys and supporting due diligence reports.Working with the Central Engineering and R&D teams to assist with incorporating new technologies and tools into the Energy Transition market.Continuously updating knowledge of the products provided by the Red Central Engineering team and how these can be used to win projects and provide new services.Assisting with site energy, water and waste audits as a first step to develop new energy transition projects, including attending site visits.Maintaining knowledge of the latest technologies and regulations relating to demand side reduction, renewable energy generation, energy storage and electricity grid connections and initiatives.Agreeing and implementing a personal development programme with the line manager including identification of internal and external training requirements.Solve problems involving different technical and/or management options when demanded by different situations, using existing company tools where possible.Contributing to innovation efforts by helping research modern technologies and supporting the development of ideas in collaboration with the R&D team.What You’ll NeedMinimum requirement of BSc/BEng (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering disciplineWorking towards Chartered Engineer statusBasic knowledge of CAD and engineering softwareUnderstanding of Health & Safety legislationStrong IT skills (MS Office, spreadsheets, calculations)Ability to prioritise and meet deadlinesFlexible to work outside core office hours from time to time, and to travel across regions as requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
