OverviewDue to our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Graduate Electrical Design Engineer to play a leading role in the growth and management of our Design teams across our Blackburn and Glasgow offices.Location: Blackburn, London, Glasgow, Newcastle and Swansea offices.About the roleYou will play a vital role within the design function by producing calculations, drawings, and documentation that support the delivery of major projects in renewable energy, sustainability, power infrastructure, and power generation – contributing directly to the transition to net zero. In addition to receiving tailored support from experienced electrical engineers at all levels, you will follow a comprehensive development plan designed to promote internal progression through senior, principal, associate director, and director roles. This pathway also supports your journey toward chartered status while expanding your expertise across a diverse range of projects.Key responsibilitiesDeveloping technical specifications, calculations, electrical designs and drawings used in a variety of projectsProducing things such as power cable calculations, C&I cablings specifications, cable and interconnections schedule projection and electrical building service designsSupporting the compilation and production of design documentation to bespoke project specifications, client specifications and/or legislative complianceInputting into the preparation of HAZOP studiesCarrying out relevant equipment selection for projectsWhat you will needDemonstrable experience producing electrical designs for Power Generation, Power Transmission, Renewable Energy, Building Services or similar equipmentIdeally educated to at least HNC/HND level in Electrical Engineering, preferably to Degree levelKnowledge of BS7671 Wiring RegulationsExperience with Amtech design software (advantageous)An understanding of pneumatic & hydraulics (advantageous)Experience with motor VSD controls and MCC equipment (advantageous)Full UK manual driving licenceBenefitsCompetitive Salary (depending upon experience)Contributory Company Pension SchemeNon–contributory death–in–service insuranceEmployee Assistance Programme33 Days Holiday including BHFlexible working hours patternsDiscounted gym memberships across the UKHow to applyIf you’re interested in this position, please email your CV to our HR department using the button below.Notice to Agency and Search Firm Representatives: Vital Energi Utilities Ltd is not accepting unsolicited CVs from agencies and/or search firms for this job posting.
