Join us in transforming society!

We’re Sweco.

We’re difference makers.

We’re Europe’s leading design, engineering, environment, and regulatory consultancy. We’re now recruiting for the November 2026 cohort of our Early Careers Graduate Scheme.

Who are we looking for?

We’re seeking passionate, forward-thinking graduates who strive to make a difference and thrive in a dynamic team environment. We provide the support and opportunities you need to develop and achieve your career goals.

Uniquely, we recruit-to role – and right now we’re looking for Graduate Mechanical Engineers to join our innovative Building Services division. Given Sweco’s global recognition as a successful Building Services Consultant, and our history of delivering the world’s most sustainable buildings such as the Bloomberg European headquarters and achieving the highest ever BREEAM score, we’d like to hear from graduates that share our ethos and values but are driven to truly transform the world around them.

What does the role involve?

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer you will:

  • Work as an integral team member on some of the most prestigious construction projects in the UK, working alongside world class architects and innovative engineering teams.
  • Carry out thermal analysis and assessment of ventilation requirements to determine loads for central plant and systems.
  • Compare alternative mechanical design proposals and develop the building with the design team to incorporate passive and active design solutions.
  • Develop the building energy strategy to adopt appropriate sustainable and low carbon mechanical design systems.
  • Select appropriate plant and equipment to develop mechanical plantroom configurations.
  • Write technical reports, design presentations and prepare tender drawings and specifications.
  • Use thermal modelling software and CAD including AutoCad and Revit.
  • Visit construction sites and witness system commissioning.
  • What do you need to apply?

We want to hear from graduates who:
    • Have a degree relevant to the role you’re applying for.
    • Have less than 12 months of relevant work experience (excluding placements).
    • Are confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
    • Are driven, proactive, and solution-oriented.
    • Can work in the UK without restrictions either now or in the future. This is a permanent role, and we’re looking for candidates who can grow their careers with Sweco without a time limit.

    What’s in it for you?
Our Graduate Scheme offers a two-year blended learning experience, with a tailored programme delivered virtually and face-to-face. You’ll have the chance to network and grow with the 2026 cohort. Personal growth will be supported by our Early Careers team, mentors, and subject matter experts from across the business.

Structured masterclasses focus on Internal Insight, Skills Development, and Subject Matter Expertise, helping fast-track your development as you pursue professional accreditation. The programme builds your confidence early in your career and gives you a platform for genuine impact within Sweco.

You’ll receive a permanent position with an industry-standard salary and benefits package, including 25 days holiday, a great pension, and life assurance.
