We are one of the largest and most experienced teams of port planning professionals and engineers globally and we are world leaders in the production of port feasibility studies, master plans and designs.A little background on our Mechanical Engineering Team: Haskoning has a dedicated Mechanical Engineering team specialising in serving the global maritime market. We provide consultancy and design services to the global maritime market specialising in the feasibility, design, and specification of a wide range of mechanical equipment packages and systems within Ports, Shipyards and Container Terminals.What you will doAs a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will work as part of the Mechanical Team to assist in the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects. Projects will vary in size and complexity and provide a variety of challenges for you to be involved in. On the job learning will be assisted by a supportive team around you. Formal training will be provided as part of a Graduate Induction Programme and specific Mechanical Engineering training will be provided with both internal and external providers. Haskoning has an approved scheme for working towards IMechE chartership that you will be enrolled onto.Duties will include:Prepare design calculations, drawings, studies, specifications, and reportsPrepare AutoCAD drawings and Revit models for mechanical systemsCarry out investigations, surveys, and inspectionsAssist in project control and site supervision as requiredPlan, organise and manage work packages or projectsCollaborate with Revit Technicians to develop a 3D Revit model in line with project requirementsTravel in the UK and abroad for short assignments (as per project requirements)Candidate SpecificationWe are looking for a flexible and motivated graduate with a genuine passion for learning and professional growth. To apply you should anticipate achieving a 2:1 or above in a degree relative to mechanical engineering (BEng) or a postgraduate qualification (MSc).A proportion of work projects are likely to involve UK Ministry of Defence. As a result, candidates must be eligible to apply for and attain SC (Security Check) clearance.This role might be right for you if you have:A logical approach to problem solvingGood interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm to take responsibility and to work closely with clientsAbility to undertake tasks independently and efficientlyExcellent verbal communication skills to liaise with clients and team membersExcellent written communication and attention to detailExperience in standard Microsoft packages: Word, Excel, etc.Have or be working towards a Full Driving LicenceWillingness to travelLocationThe role will be based in our Edinburgh, Exeter, Liverpool, Newcastle, or Peterborough offices.
