Contract Hardware Engineer (PCB/Board Level Design & IC Validation)Role OverviewWe are seeking a contract Hardware Engineer (PCB/board level design) to support hardware development and IC validation activities for our client. The role spans PCB design and hardware platform development, together with IC bring up, validation, and characterisation, as well as customer facing technical support. You will work closely with internal engineering and marketing teams to deliver high quality development platforms and proof of concept designs that showcase our clients next generation products.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop PCB based hardware platforms and development boards for internal use and external customersPerform IC bring up, validation, and characterisation of video and high speed data ICsDebug and resolve hardware issues at board and system levelCreate and maintain schematics and PCB layouts using Cadence Allegro (or similar tools)Support customer design reviews and assist in diagnosing and resolving hardware related issuesCollaborate with internal engineering and marketing teams on proof of concept and demonstration platformsProduce clear documentation for designs, validation results, and debug activitiesRequired Skills & Experience7+ years of experience in PCB hardware design and validation, with proven ability to independently deliver board bring up and debug activitiesStrong background in schematic capture and PCB layoutExperience with Cadence Allegro (or similar PCB design tools)Hands on experience with board bring up, debugging, and lab based validationExperience with high speed digital interfaces (e.g. USB, display interfaces)Solid understanding of signal integrity and power integrity fundamentalsExperience using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, protocol analysers, BERTs, etc.)Ability to work independently in a contractor capacityDesirable SkillsExperience with IC validation or silicon bring upKnowledge of USB or display standardsExperience supporting customers or participating in design reviewsExperience developing proof of concept or demonstration platformsBasic scripting or automation experience (e.g. Python)Personal AttributesStrong problem solving and debugging skillsClear and effective communication, particularly in customer facing situationsProactive, self driven, and able to work independentlyAble to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesContract DetailsContract duration: 12monthsLocation: OnsiteStart date: ASAPJBRP1_UKTJ
