The Role
The role will involve development of all the requirements for specific HV Charging functions, reviewing the associated Failure Mode Avoidance material, including Functional Failure Analysis, functional safety deliverables, cyber security deliverables and testing of each function to ensure suitability for production.
It will be necessary to discuss suitable software environments with suppliers to ensure OEM software can be integrated into supplier-delivered code. The role is central to ensure the automotive manufacturing business can sell products globally with the necessary software compliance standards and roll out across all other markets (North America & Rest of the world).
Your Responsibilities
Benchmarking new technologies and features supporting electrification of PHEV and BEV products. Responsible for the requirements to support development of new charging system features and functions. Responsible for updating standards in line with existing and upcoming international standards. Issuing Test Procedures to ensure any new/updated high voltage charging feature or function can be adequately tested. Responsible for the management of HV Charging System related software requirements, linked to the various software functions of the system. Responsible for the rectification of software and hardware issues related to specific High Voltage Charging system issues. Accountable for the development of rigs to help with software testing, debugging and validation. Taking logs (diagnostics) and using prognostics data to verify charging performance of features has been met on rigs and vehicles. Your Profile
Essential Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Significant knowledge and practical experience of High Voltage Electronic Charging systems. Significant knowledge and practical experience of the software development processes. Project management, leadership and planning skills are essential, along with good teamwork and excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Strategic thinking is also essential. Significant experience of D&R, quality processes including 8D, FMA process as well as requirements and standards writing. Valid UK driving license. Desirable Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automotive Engineering. Over 5 years of proven experience in HV Charging and features and controls in Battery Electric / Hybrid automotive vehicle applications. Knowledge of CAN/CAN-FD communication protocols. Use of Hardware In the Loop (HIL) rigs. Functional Safety knowledge (ISO 26262), Cyber Security systems and requirements, ASPICE.
