We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Human Factors Engineer.

As a Human Factors Engineer, you will play a key role in embedding Human Factors principles across the Rolls-Royce SMR Power Station and associated factory environments. Working as part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure that risks to people and product are reduced to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).

You will be responsible for conducting Human Factors analyses and providing expert input into the design and development of the power station and manufacturing facilities. This includes supporting key decision-making processes and participating in concept and design reviews to ensure that human capabilities and limitations are fully considered throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Key Role Responsibilities:

Human Factors Integration

Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to integrate Human Factors principles across the SMR power station and factory environments.

Requirements Development And Verification

Develop Human Factors requirements and associated verification plans, and work closely with design teams to ensure these are met.

Safety Case Support

Support the development of the safety case through the identification and analysis of operator actions, Human Error Identification (HEI), and Human Reliability Assessment (HRA).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work across multiple areas of the programme, supporting colleagues and contributing to the overall Human Factors strategy.

Operational Role Definition

Identify the required personnel numbers, skillsets, and training needs for safe and effective operation of the SMR. Contribute to job design and role allocation strategies.
