HVAC COMMISSIONING ENGINEER

40 HOURS PER WEEK - 8AM STARTS

DAYS & HOURS FLEXIBLE AND TO BE DISCUSSED AT INTERVIEW

£45,000 - £55,000 PER ANNUM

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HVAC Commissioning Engineer to join our well-established client based in London/South of England on a full-time, permanent basis.

This role offers you the opportunity to be field based from your home which must in the South London or South of England area.

Hours of Work:

  • 40 hours per week plus travel – 8am on site - Hours are Flexible and are dependant on the business needs

Day-to-Day Duties

  • Commission, test, and balance HVAC systems in line with design specifications
  • Carry out initial system checks, troubleshooting, and resolving on-site issues
  • Adjust HVAC system settings for optimal performance and efficiency
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to coordinate commissioning activities
  • Conduct air and water balancing, adjusting dampers, valves, and air handling units
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and health & safety regulations
  • Provide technical support and advice to clients and colleagues during the commissioning process
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of commissioning activities, including test results
  • Identify system improvements to enhance performance or reduce energy consumption

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as an HVAC Commissioning Engineer
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems (chilled water, heating, ventilation, ASHP/CHP systems)
  • Relevant qualifications (CSA, NVQ Level 3 in HVAC, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of BSRIA, CIBSE standards, and industry regulations
  • Strong problem-solving ability and independence in technical decision-making
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
  • Strong health and safety awareness

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and integration with HVAC equipment
  • Familiarity with commissioning tools/software (Trend, BMS systems, etc.)
  • Knowledge of all aspects of HVCA commissioning
  • Ability to train and mentor junior engineers
