About the Role

We are seeking a skilled

Hydraulic Maintenance Engineer

to carry out service, repair, and maintenance on hydraulic systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in plant or heavy machinery, though this is not essential. You will need to provide your own tools and be confident working independently as well as part of a team. Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems and components.

Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs.

Strip down, inspect, and rebuild hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, and valves.

Conduct fault-finding on-site and implement effective solutions.

Work with workshop and field-based equipment.

Maintain accurate service records and complete job sheets.

Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health & safety procedures.

Provide technical support and advice to colleagues and customers.

Requirements

Proven experience working with hydraulic systems (cylinders, pumps, hoses, motors).

Own tools are essential.

Plant or heavy machinery background (advantageous but not essential).

Strong mechanical knowledge with ability to problem-solve under pressure.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Full UK driving licence preferred (for mobile/field roles).

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
