We are currently recruiting for an
I&C Electrical Field Metering Engineer
to join a leading UK energy infrastructure company. This is a full-time, permanent, field-based position covering Central London, offering excellent career development, benefits, and competitive pay.
Salary Levels (based on qualifications and experience):
Level 3 CT/LV: £43,134
Level 2 CT/HV: £45,188
Level 1: £47,242
About the Role:
As an I&C Electrical Field Metering Engineer, you will play a key role in the safe installation, maintenance, and commissioning of advanced industrial and commercial metering solutions. Youll be working with both low voltage and high voltage systems, supporting accurate energy monitoring and ensuring customers receive a reliable and professional service.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance of Meters
Carry out the installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of Low Voltage and High Voltage Code of Practice meters, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimal performance at all times.
Industrial & Commercial AMR/Half-Hourly Metering
Deliver accurate and efficient Automated Meter Reading (AMR) and half-hourly metering services for business customers, enabling detailed energy usage monitoring and regulatory compliance.
Testing and Replacement of Communication Equipment
Diagnose and resolve faults in metering communications, including the replacement of hardware, to guarantee continuous and reliable data transfer.
Customer Liaison and On-Site Technical Support
Act as the face of the company on client sites, providing professional advice, clear communication, and technical support to ensure a positive customer experience.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
Work to the highest health and safety standards, carrying out risk assessments, adhering to safe working practices, and reporting any hazards or incidents immediately.
Stock and Equipment Management
Take responsibility for company-provided tools, PPE, and vehicle, ensuring they are well-maintained, correctly stored, and available to deliver your duties efficiently.
Collaboration with Support Teams
Work closely with the operations and planning teams, field coaches, and head office to ensure smooth delivery of metering projects, providing feedback to improve efficiency and service.
Record Keeping and Compliance Documentation
Complete all required documentation to meet industry standards and regulatory obligations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all aspects of the role.
What Were Looking For:
NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installations (or equivalent)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable)
EUSR registered up to Three Phase Whole Current
Proven knowledge of industrial and commercial metering solutions
Confident IT skills and experience using metering software
Strong communication and customer service skills
