Project-related travel to client sites may be required.Aden Engineering & Consultancy Ltd is seeking a technically strong Industrial Automation and Control Engineer to support our expanding portfolio of projects in the automotive and advanced manufacturing sectors.The successful candidate will contribute to legacy control system support, modernisation projects, and advanced automation solutions deployed in factory environments across the UK and Europe.Key ResponsibilitiesProgramming and integration of PLC, HMI and SCADA systemsCommissioning and troubleshooting systems on siteMigrating legacy control platforms to modern architecturesCollaborating with cross-functional teams on automation projectsManaging project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful completionKeeping up-to-date with emerging automation technologies and industry best practicesProviding technical support and training to clientsRequired Technical SkillsProven experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Beckhoff etc.)HMI/SCADA system development and integrationUnderstanding of machine safety and control panel standardsFieldbus communication protocols (e.g., EthernetIP, Modbus, Profibus, EtherCATSpecialised Expertise (essential for this role)Extensive programming experience with legacy Rockwell products such as:Automax, Ultra3000, Ultra5000, PanelView Standard, PanelView Plus, Panelview 5000, Reliance GV3000, ControlLogix, CompactLogix control systems, Kinetix Servo Drives and PowerFlex AC DrivesExtensive programming experience with legacy Rockwell software such as: PanelBuilder 32 , PanelBuilder 1400, GML Commander, Ultraware, RSNetWorx, RSLogix5, RSLogix 500, RSLogix5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, FactoryTalk AssetCentre, Connected Component Workbench, Drive Executive, ThinmanagerProven capability to develop tailored migration strategies from legacy platforms to modern architecturesAwareness of cybersecurity, Safety Integrity Levels (SIL), and compliance standards in industrial environmentsQualificationsBSc or MSc in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering5+ years hands-on experience in factory automation and controlProficiency in English (minimum IELTS for UKVI General Training – B2 level)Exposure to robotics, machine vision, or IIoT platformsAbility to read electrical schematics and design functional safety conceptsWhat We OfferCompetitive salary and bonus schemeOpportunities for growth within a technically strong teamSupportive working environment and relocation support if applicableHow to ApplyPlease send your CV and a brief cover letter to:Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.We welcome applications from UK-resident professionals and with the right to work in the UK.
