An opportunity has arisen for an Infrastructure Engineer to support and manage infrastructure services, systems, applications and hardware in line with GKN standards and industry best practices. The role involves troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, assisting front-line IT staff with complex infrastructure challenges, and ensuring effective documentation and communication of problems and risks to maintain compliance and timely resolution. This role offers a hybrid working pattern.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver infrastructure services to agreed SLA requirements
  • Troubleshoot/resolve problems associated with the infrastructure environment
  • Work with hardware/software vendors to resolve technical support issues
  • Coordinate and work with global architects and other regional Data Center teams to ensure infrastructure and systems meet GKN Aerospace standards in regards to functionality, security, and maintainability
  • Deploy industry best practice approaches and standards
  • Procure and replace hardware components when required
  • Actively monitor the system infrastructure to manage business systems and security risks
  • Actively work with automating the IT infrastructure delivery
  • Work with the following Key Processes: Event Management, Incident Management, Change Management, Request Management, Asset & Configuration Management

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • Relevant Degree or equivalent experience
  • IT infrastructure experience
  • An ability to follow processes
  • Self-driven with a motivation to succeed and provide world class services to the business
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Experience working in a high availability, high demand environment
  • Able to work effectively in a virtual team environment
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Good communication skills in English and native language – both verbal and written

Desirable

  • Technical certifications in Operating Systems, Microsoft Azure or equivalent
  • Technical certifications in PowerShell or other relevant scripting technologies
