Job Description: An experienced Infrastructure Security Engineer is sought for a hands-on role responsible for installation, maintenance, problem management, testing, and documenting the company's portfolio of infrastructure supporting intelligence products. The role focuses on VMware and Windows Server infrastructure and provides opportunities to branch into Linux administration, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies. The candidate will be required to work onsite at the Farnborough office 3 days a week and must have a valid driving license, as this role involves ad hoc travel to customer sites and international travel. This job requires security clearance or the willingness and ability to obtain and maintain security clearance. Duties/Responsibilities of Position: Responsible for field installation & support of infrastructure hosting company's products, often in secure environments. Ensure all PCs and servers are appropriately hardened and secured in accordance with industry best practice. Domain Controller Administration
ensure high availability and monitor replication. Implement periodic patching schedules for all PCs and Windows Servers in customer environments. Deploy and configure suitable anti-virus solutions for all servers and workstations. Deploy, configure, and maintain Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions. Document and provide knowledge transfer across multiple groups internally and externally. Assist customers with hardware and software upgrades. Act as the interface for New Infrastructure Introduction. Help customers with equipment configuration. Provide training on infrastructure operations. Provide remote support to the customer base. Participate in customer technical assistance troubleshooting calls. Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24x7 support to the customer base. Requires 25-50% travel, including domestic and international. Position Specific Competencies/Skills Required: Essential: Prior commercial experience in an infrastructure role. Experience with Microsoft Exchange and VMware vSphere environments. Experience with Windows Server Update Services, Active Directory, and similar infrastructure technologies. Experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT). Capability to manage security baselines and hardening of servers. Technical understanding of network and IT security. Outstanding customer service skills. Must be able to travel and hold a valid driving licence. Must be willing and eligible to obtain security clearance. Desirable: Knowledge of UNIX/Linux system administration. Experience with Network Attached Storage. Experience with SIEM solutions. Experience with Atlassian Confluence. Broad knowledge of regulatory compliance. Experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployment methods. Experience and Education Requirements: Bachelors degree or equivalent in a technology-related field (desired). 5+ years of experience in high tech, preferably in telecom.
