Installation Engineer

6 month contract role Based in Stoke on Trent Hourly Rate Depending on experience Full time hours 37.5 hours a week Purpose of the Role

The purpose of the Installation Engineer is to deploy fibre installation services within our customer premises, providing a best-in-class quality of service for our residential and business customers. The Installation Engineer reports directly to the Operations Manager, supporting our business' vision by delivering a friendly, personable service, breaking the mould of the telecom industry's notoriously poor customer experience. Core Responsibilities

Evaluating, testing and installing both legacy and new fibre networks.

Liaising with the City team to make sure that both the internal and external customers experience a seamless connection.

Ensuring that site operations are carried out to a high standard within contractual specification, to the relevant specification and within quality, health, safety, environmental and NRSWA guidelines and regulations.

Ensuring all customer documentation is completed and checked in accordance with client requirements.

Installing, testing and splicing fibre optic cables within existing infrastructure.

Making sure that all site-specific risk assessments are in place.

There will be an element of out of hours on-call working after 3-month probation.

Skills & Experience

It's important that you have previous experience in fibre optic installation and OTDR, OILM testing and splicing.

OSP Telecoms FTTP Build Experience

Understanding of the New Roads and Works Act (1991) – NRSWA

Working knowledge of CDM

Fibre Optics Splicing and OTDR/IM Testing principles and experience.

Experience of Blown and traditional cable installation techniques.

An understanding of method statements and risk assessments.

Experience of managing contracted engineering construction works.
