Our client in Newcastle is looking for a IT Engineer to join the team on a two year fixed term contract. As the IT engineer you will be responsible for managing IT operations across the West Europe region, supporting local business functions, coordinating with central IT teams, and managing external vendors to ensure secure, reliable, and high-quality IT service delivery in line with corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary technical contact for regional business users on IT-related matters
Deliver IT operations including user support, infrastructure, security, network management, procurement, and asset tracking
Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to define system requirements and specifications
Manage second-level support operations across the region
Ensure uninterrupted IT service across all construction sites in the UK and Ireland
Core Competencies and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
2–3 years of experience in IT roles with increasing responsibility
Minimum 3 years in system administration and IT support
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Proven experience in IT service management and SLA monitoring
Analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting abilities
Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or MCSE are advantageous
Willingness to travel within the assigned region

Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) following failures
SLA breach frequency
User satisfaction measured by Net Promoter Score (NPS)
Response time based on ticket severity
Technical Qualifications
Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Office 365 administration
Proficiency in managing users, groups, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP
Strong understanding of information security principles including access control, encryption, and patch management
Solid grasp of networking protocols and infrastructure: TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, firewalls, switches, wireless equipment
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Online: document libraries, lists, permissions, and external access
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services: Intune, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange Online
Ability to train and support users on systems and processes
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
