JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new opportunity for an Onsite IT Field Support Engineer with advanced routing, network, and Wi-Fi skills, and excellent troubleshooting experience.
As an Onsite IT Field Support Engineer, you will work at a dedicated client site (an educational establishment in London), providing face-to-face infrastructure support and 1st/2nd line support.
This role offers additional training, support, and career development opportunities within an industry-leading company.
DUTIES
Your responsibilities include:
- Managing, maintaining, and securing networks and systems, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance with IT governance standards.
- Keeping systems current through updates and industry best practices.
- Providing training and support to users and team members on network and system aspects.
- Delegating routine management tasks to team members for efficiency and knowledge sharing.
- Providing deskside support, logging incidents, and requests.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues with Microsoft desktop OS.
- Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes for hardware and software.
- Escalating and liaising with vendors for customer-specific application issues.
- Managing time effectively for productivity.
- Providing regular updates to customers via appropriate channels and the service management platform.
- Maintaining high-quality incident documentation.
- Following company processes aligned with ITIL standards.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Network, Wi-Fi, advanced routing, DHCP, DNS, and network monitoring skills.
- Experience with Windows and Apple Mac OS.
- Knowledge of email and productivity systems.
- Printer setup and management skills.
- VOIP telephone system experience.
