Overview
As a member of the Infrastructure Team, the IT Infrastructure Engineer undertakes a mix of project-based work to deliver and enhance Infrastructure Services (compute and storage) and provides 2nd and 3rd line support of the IT Infrastructure. This includes Windows & Linux Servers (circa 3000), Storage (primary and secondary), and Client devices (circa 5000).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan, design, and implement IT infrastructure solutions (compute, virtualization, containerization, load balancers, primary storage, and backup) that meet business needs and requirements.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of IT infrastructure with other IT systems and services.
- Provide out-of-hours support via the On-Call support rota and be prepared for occasional planned out-of-hours work when expected.
Assist In Managing Security
- Installing operating systems patches and updates.
- Reviewing logs to investigate unauthorised activity.
- Administration of Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Remediating reported vulnerabilities.
What You’ll Have
- Excellent understanding and experience of administering Windows Server and Linux (RedHat & Oracle) Operating Systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Infrastructure Management tooling (e.g., SCOM, SCCM, DPM, WSUS, Intune, Defender, Patch My PC).
- Must have experience with Windows Hyper-V.
- Experience with Containerisation & Kubernetes is desirable.
- Experience with automation tools like PowerShell is a plus.
- Qualifications in Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or other relevant Microsoft credentials are desirable.
