Quant Capital is urgently looking for an IT Operations Engineer to join our high profile client. Our client is a well known global High Frequency Trading firm. They value technology especially the opensource variety as well as scalability and robust performance (much like their track record).
The Role
The primary responsibility of the IT Operations Engineer is to ensure the availability of all the IT systems that are used by all colleagues throughout the trading day. This includes end-user computing, the applications that run on them and the back-end infrastructure from the office to the exchanges. In addition to this, you will be involved in building and deploying new PCs, managing resource utilisation of IT systems, patching and maintaining Windows Server environments, patching and maintaining Linux systems, and ensuring regulatory compliance reporting is carried out.
Responsibilities
- Administer Active Directory, Office 365, and identity/access control.
- Manage AWS services and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues (on-site and remote).
- Monitor systems using Grafana and Elastic to ensure performance and availability.
- Document processes, create runbooks, and automate repetitive tasks.
- Work closely with traders and developers to ensure systems are ready for pre-market activities (~7:15 am start).
- Own issues from detection through resolution, keeping downtime to a minimum.
IT Ops Engineers MUST have
- Ideally prior experience working in financial services
- Experience managing a Windows Server environment (ideally Server 2016)
- Experience building and maintaining Windows 10 desktops
- Experience maintaining Microsoft SQL Server
