IT Security Engineer

Salary: Competitive salary range of £38,000 to £55,000 per year, depending on experience, aligned with current market rates for mid-range IT Security Engineers in Northern Ireland, plus a 10% quarterly bonus

Working Arrangements:

Hybrid role with remote work options; occasional on-site presence required based on project needs. Applicants need to be based in Northern Ireland or Midlands, England

The Role:

Responsibilities

• Monitor and secure network infrastructure to prevent cyber threats.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Secure Endpoints and Windows operating systems and cloud-based systems to ensure robust protection.
• Respond to security incidents and document mitigation steps.
• Develop and Enhance Overall Corporate Security Posture
• Deliver security solutions in a project-led environment with strong organizational skills.
• Work autonomously, prioritizing tasks while taking direction as needed.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system configurations.

Experience / Qualifications

• 3-5 years of IT security experience.
• Proficiency with tools like Splunk, Wireshark, or Nessus.
• Hands-on experience securing Cisco, Cisco Meraki, and Checkpoint systems.
• CISSP or CompTIA Security+ certification preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
